Venus Transit 2004
Home

Got up early this morning and drove with Helen to my parents. Dad had a good telescope he uses to watch the birds which we set up as a projector.

At 7:20 Venus just started to touch the solar disc. Four sunspots can be seen close to center.

By 7:40 The whole planet was visible. A slight deformation on the edge can be seen but I doubt this is the famous "tear drop"effect.

Went to work after this picture was taken. Huges had aligned the 150mm telescope.

By this time the hot air was starting to fuzz the image.

After lunchtime.
